Mica

Mica have been recognised as an unique Inorganic Plastic filler because of its exceptional properties can not be found in any other fillers. Some of it's useful characteristic properties are:
Outstanding mechanical, electrical, thermal and chemical properties rarely found in any other products.

Transparent, elastic and flexible. Ground to very fine particles with a high-aspect ratio which are specially suited as for reinforcing fillers.

 Moisture proof, infusible, non-combustible.

High tensile / flexural strengths and modules of elasticity.

With excellent anti-friction and anti-sticking properties

With it's low density (2.8 to 3.0 g/cm3 ) which helps to reduce added resin weight and maximise resin savings. It's bulking value is about 0.34 g/ml.

Having low specific gravity, such mica particles do not tend to settle and these particles stay uniformly dispersed

Relatively soft, with moh's hardness of 2.5 to 3.0 which further helps to minimise equipment wear and abrasion during processing. It also eliminates abrasive effects on steel plates.

Absorbing Ultraviolet radiations (Uv-light), prevents penetration of destructive sun-rays. Also as it prevents moisture, heat and atmospheric gases, etc it helps to increase the service life and decorative value of the end products.

In formed thermoplastics mica promotes uniform cell structure, persuming acting as a nucleating agent, lowers thermoplastic density, reduces cost, adds low temperature impact resistance and reduces flammability.

Mica provides cost effective improvements in the critical properties for a wide range of thermoplastic and thermoset composites which are based on PP, HDPE, HMWPE/PP/PE, PA, TPX, ABS, HIPS, PST, PBT/PET, PES, PVDE, PVC, SAN, etc.
